    Loving my life again

Hi Suzanne. Yes, I had burning mouth (now gone), and still have health anxiety and OCD, but both are much, much better thanks to an SSRI (medication for OCD), ERP therapy (for OCD) and TMS therapy with Daniel Lyman, whom I found at the Pain Psychology Center. Actually Daniel helped me with my...

    Loving my life again

Hi talkinghead. I'm glad my post was helpful. This site helped me a lot a year ago, so I'm glad I can offer some hope. I only visit here now when I get a notification that someone replied to this post. You can get there too -- to the point where you have no reason or desire to visit this...

    Loving my life again

Hi Leslie. The burning mouth stopped shortly after stopping taking a proton pump inhibitor called Dexilant, however then my focus was drawn to another GI area, so I believe TMS was at play. I know how awful the sensation is. Hang in there. There's hope.

    Loving my life again

Though I no longer visit this TMS Wiki website, I am posting this in the hope it will give someone else hope – as these success stories helped me in the past. The reason I no longer visit the TMS Wiki website is because I’m out and about enjoying my life. However, this time last year I spent...

    How to address anger

Thanks Walt. I have tried to forgive her and let it go for many years but it keeps hanging on. I feel like maybe I just have to accept the anger and not feel so bad about not being able to let it go?

    How to address anger

I realized that the anger I've felt toward a close family member for most of my life (very deep and not always noticeable to me) is probably a huge cause of my TMS, most recently GI issues. I get so triggered by some of the things she says and does and feel such rage sometimes, which of course...

Does Anyone Else Here Have OCD?

Thanks Jaumeb and Stradivvarius. Strad -- my physical symptoms are now better but my anxiety is much worse. I do think for me the TMS focuses on one or the other. I'll take the anxiety over the physical pain! I'm tempted to go on an SSRI to ease the anxiety but am concerned the possible side...

Yes Cricket that's exactly what I did!

Does Anyone Else Here Have OCD?

Good explanation c90danwaiel. I can relate to spending most of the day googling health systems. It's a vain attempt to get reassurance and calm my anxiety, but of course only results in more ocd.

Does Anyone Else Here Have OCD?

Thanks Cricket. From what I've read CBT/ERP is most used to help OCD so I think I'll start there but it's good to know about other options.

Does Anyone Else Here Have OCD?

Yes PSPA - my thoughts exactly. Who is Ron Siegel? This is sheer torture (not to check). I'm doing CBT therapy but wondering if I should explore even more methods to get a grip on this. There is a 12 step group -- Obsessive Compulsive Anonymous -- also group therapies. What are you doing for it?

Does Anyone Else Here Have OCD?

I know my OCD is a TMS symptom, and I've had it since I was about 13. It is such a mentally painful condition. My current obsessions urge me to check and re-check Dr Google (who is not my friend) and my health records to reassure myself that I don't have x, y and z ailment related to my physical...
