Need more help unable to convince my subconscious this is all tms

This is IT in a nutshell! Thank you for taking the time to write it all down. A followup question: Where do you find all your "providers that recognize the mind-body connection"? Alternative practitioners are easy to find, and I prefer them, but sometimes you need an MD, and I think I've only...

    Friends…

Dear Plum, I am so very sorry for your loss. I wish you comfort in your grieving, peace, and sweet memories

How can I stop googling my symptoms?

I want to say that if anybody had told me I'd eventually lose interest in googling my symptoms, I never would have believed them. I was that desperate to find "the answer." But as I read about more TMS experiences, I VERY gradually realized that all the googling wasn't getting me one step closer...

Tooth issue for 18 months... TMS?

I've had a very similar experience. At the beginning of the pandemic my upper left teeth were so sensitive that I avoid biting or chewing on that side or even letting hot or cold foods or liquids touch that side. It seemed to be coming from a tooth that had been root canaled a few years ago, but...

    TMS fever?

I'm just starting to draw a TMS connection between something that happens to me every once in a while, which happened again this week. I'd say this is a high-stress time for me. In 10 days I'm starting a new job that I'm excited about and is more high-prestige than any job I've ever had. I've...

    Bereavement

Dear Plum, I wanted to say, though belatedly, that I'm very sorry for your recent losses and the shocks. I wish you peace and sweet memories. I'm glad you have the companionship of your husband, and he has you. I don't know you, but your presence here has changed my life for the better...

    Can you hallucinate pain?

I agree with everything that's been said but I don't see it as hallucinating pain. The way I think it goes, at least sometimes, is that an idea gets planted in your head (Google is a great source of nocebos, as is television, as are doctors) about a certain area of the body or symptom and you...

    BOOKS

I highly recommend *Defying The Verdict_ How I Defeated Chronic Pain* by our own @TG957. It's available as a download on Amazon.

What else is there - Seriously

@Latitudes9 I don't pretend to have the answer(s) for you nor the expertise and experience of others on this thread. But I have a lot of the same frustration and even despair you're experiencing. I live my life but my symptoms are always on my mind. As soon as I forget or transcend one, another...

Thank you so much for this, @Ellen. It's exactly the kind of reminder I need.

    Introduction and Symptoms

I would so love to hear from someone on this old thread. I'm having some of these weird symptoms now, including the drop of water one, and it would help to hear an encouraging word. I've come so far on my TMS journey, seen many symptoms come and go, but these are too weird (as is the world these...

    Bad dreams

Funny you should ask, @elchessboy, because it happened to me last night and it has happened several times in the past. Last night I was awakened around 3 am by a burning pain in my back (yes, for the last month, first time in my life I've had back pain, although I've had plenty of other TMS...

I do believe, but help me in my unbelief - need mentors, please

Thank you for sharing that story, @JanAtheCPA. I believe in you -- if anyone can do this, you can! You also have some seriously good karma in your favor, based on all the help you have given others here. I'll be sending you healing wishes.

    Symptoms during sleep

@Patrisia @JanAtheCPA @whitewatersmetta I want to report a little victory to you, because you were so kind and helpful. For the past 2 nights I woke up with a few seconds of vertigo. Instead of panicking I relaxed and breathed deeply and it just went away! And I didn't have any nausea afterwards...
