did anyone break through after long time?

Hi Eskimo, Can't speak for myself, since I've been at it almost 2 years with no relief. But check out a success story by nguyeq12 "100 % healed." She was at it 5 years and healed completely.

    TMS Forum obsession?

"well you're not one of those, so forget it" absolutely brilliant! And not just for tms stuff. I came up with something similar to deal with my sad thoughts about my dysfunctional childhood. When those thoughts come up, I simply say: so what! I use it all the time and it works, but I like Dr...

    Alone in pain

Hi migperreault, Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear you haven't been able to play hockey since 2011 because of the pain. That much be really tough for you. If it's any encouragement, I have TMS and was able to go back to karate recently. It felt like an amazing victory for me! I'm from...

My mind: "Your traumatic events aren't traumatic enough to mention."

Hi giantsfan, This is just a thought, but maybe the word "traumatic" itself is the problem. it might be hard not to associate it with horrible things like rape, violence and war. It seems to have judgement written all over it: we somehow have to prove that something was bad to justify being...

So glad you're getting support from your brother, redsox. It's so important not to go it alone.

    A question to TMS victors

Hi allinthemind, I'm still recovering, but I would say the biggest change for me is way, way more self-esteem. Not every minute of every day, but generally speaking, it's just so much better. It's a welcome change. Best of luck to you!

Day 33 Perfectionism - the value of cluster writing

Yes, powerful and seductive, indeed! My perfectionism was born long ago out of the desire to please my dad and win his love, but I keep it alive in the here and now. As long as I am trying to be perfect, there's hope. The alternative is to stop all the striving and be with that wounded child...

Dr. Hanscom's Blog Fighting a Forest Fire – Your Pain

I was happy to read that some people take a year or two to get results. That kind of information really takes the pressure off.

Day 33 Perfectionism - the value of cluster writing

Hi moppy, I'm glad you ended up submitting your art on Facebook and received good feedback. It's just more evidence that everything you have to offer is more than fine. Maybe perfectionism is a hard habit to break because it promises so much. If I am a perfect wife, mother, worker etc. I will...

    New Dr

Wouldn't say handy... the correct image of me doing karate is more Mr. Bean, less Jackie chan. but I still really love it.

    New Dr

Hi there, Get to know the doctor a bit first. I told my doctor about tms and she was extremely happy for me and gave me two thumbs up. But I've known her for years, so the trust was there. Without knowing anything about your new doc, I wouldn't venture down that road yet.

    Addressing Personality traits

Pretty funny, tennis tom. I'm a translator/revised by trade. I thought your message was hilarious. My perfectionism in my work - in a field known for its perfectionism - is one of my final frontiers. I've noticed that my clients' perfectionism greatly fuels my own. I've been working on this...

Alan G. How to get rid of your pain in 7 minutes

Amazing! I will listen to this again and again. By the way, the swearing makes it even more authentic, so no need to apologize. Loved every minute of that recording. Thank you sharing, Alan.

Interesting article about placebo and mind over body

I like the idea that when we feel cared for, we can just relax and believe that things will work out. Sounds like what tms work is all about: learn to care for ourselves, stop worrying about the pain and trust that it will go away. Thanks for sharing, sienna.
