    Day 32 - Deja Vu...All Over Again!

Jilly, what a brave, courageous, and generous soul you are! Reading your story makes this whole process "real", how you allow yourself to feel the pain, and developed an ingenious bathroom strategy when there was "no time to catch a moment on my own". I see you as a determined trail-blazer...

    Day 32 - Deja Vu...All Over Again!

Jilly, can't say enough how very helpful your posts are to me - a big THANK YOU! This week I am remembering to put all of this in practice, issue by issue, moment by moment.

Please help!! I'm so much worse!!

Tarala is reinforcing an important and it turns out, hopeful phase in TMS. This quote from Dr. Shubiner's blog was very helpful to me,: "When symptoms shift, that is a good sign; you've got your symptoms moving; you've got them “on the run.”

    Day 32 - Deja Vu...All Over Again!

Allowing emotion safe passage and letting it flow safely through.....realizing that I need practice at this to not get "caught" by the emotions going by. Didn't have much success this morning on my 1-3 times daily (usually upsetting, frustrating, powerless-to-do-anything) conversation with my...

    Day 32 - Deja Vu...All Over Again!

Like Tarala, often my emotions/thoughts flit through me before I can catch them mentally or as embodied physical sensation; so I need to go hunting for them. I have set my timer during the day to remind me to "check in" with my feelings, body, emotions every 30 minutes and develop this new...

    Day 30 so embarrasing

SandyRae I so appreciate your willingness to be vulnerable and share your story and progress, and Jilly, Veronica - thank you also for your most helpful and encouraging suggestions and comments.

    Day 100 - awesome news

You are so right, all we can really ever do to influence anyone is to plant seeds! Thanks so much for your support!

    Day 32 - Deja Vu...All Over Again!

I am in total agreement with everyone, this is so helpful Jilly, and gives me hope! The awareness that I have have placed my early warning signals on mute sounds true, though I am not conscious yet, of how or when. I will start taking 30-second "feeling -awareness-discharge breaks" right away.

Day 27 My life one big flare-up

Yes you can. I am learning this too, though it takes time to unlearn those old patterns.

    Day 32 - Deja Vu...All Over Again!

In the past few days, some previously unrecognized-as-TMS symptoms have popped up; they are not completely new - just not my initial presenting issue ..(which happily, remains away). Interestingly, the issue of symptom substitution is part of the focus of this particular lesson. After several...

    Day 100 - awesome news

Way to go Sandy! You deserve respect and acknowledgement for your commitment and courage. Similarly, I told my family doctor about TMS in October, and she wrote down Dr. Sarno's book. I thought she understood why I was off all meds and my new-found understanding that the nature of the...

    Day 20 Crashed and Burned

Thank you for sharing this part of your journey. I too feel enormous pressure and inner rage at having to be there and be responsible for our mother who has been in an extended care home for 26 years. The conscious part of my understands that with the huge stroke that left her essentially a...

Day 31 - Taking Care of Myself

I really resonated today with Dr. Shubiner's article on why women seem to have a greater incidence of TMS; see quote below. My neuralgia symptoms stopped the day I spontaneously stated to myself, " I am taking care of me now." The past week has been gruelling with enormous pressure to deliver...
