PWM sensitivity - is it TMS?

    Hi!

I recently got a new phone and it's causing me eye strain/fatigue. I'm going to hold on to it for at least a couple of weeks and see how I go, but I know that some people complain of this issue with some mobile phone screens - PWM (pulse width modulation) sensitivity. PWM is essentially a method of controlling brightness on phones and other devices. Instead of pushing less power to the screen, it rapidly flickers to give the impression of reduced brightness. At least, that's how I understand it.

I've found lots of people talking about it, but it seems like there's nothing I can find about it scientifically. Only people complaining online about eye strain, headaches, etc. I tried searching this forum too, but couldn't find anything relevant about it.

Does anybody have any experience/knowledge of this issue? It seems like all kinds of people have all kinds of different severities of it, with different displays. But, of course, I've only ever seen this discussed online and I'm very aware that these kinds of spaces tend to breed TMS symptoms. Has anybody dealt with this is the past, or can give me an idea one way or the other?

    Thanks in advance!

    Tom

Maybe you just use the phone too much to distract your brain...And distraction of the brain to face our true self breeds TMS. I use my phone all the time to browse and numb my brain and it is a distraction for me to do deep emotional work.
