Today's journey...in the back of my mind I wonder if my pain is the result of an old injury that has been aggravated by specific activity and an aging body:arghh:...I did injure this site slightly (heard & felt the pull tho it never really hurt...is the 'scar tissue' knotted and need break up thru stretch & myofascial work...that was successful for calf a couple years ago) so now wondering if a combination of PT and TMS approach would work? To answer myself, I think it's up to me and my mind to do so...positive thinking and a strong will to overcome the issue...I do have to say the introspection/reflection has been good...I really feel I've become more aware of what could be leading to repressed emotions...pain didn't seem to be so much of factor 20 years ago:hurting:

Just remember that TMS strikes in locations with old injuries. It gives the bodymind a "logical, believable place to hurt." This is a common observation at the Forum. I believe scar tissue pain is not a valid concept, although it is commonly believed by parts of the medical industry... Try to get on the TMS horse as best you can, and stay there! ;)

Glad the introspection work is getting easier for you. It will always serve you!

hmmm well I know Dr. Sarno recommended stopping all physical treatments. I'd also agree with Andy B that scar tissue pain is hogwash along with 'muscle knots'.

what part of your body is the symptoms on? I would just observe the pain and look for signs that point to tms. does the pain move around or go to the other side? does the pain get better or worse at times that don't make sense?
