    I think many people would actually prefer that. Just as it's harmful when physicians declare a condition to be incurable, it's encouraging to be told by a trusted person that recovery is possible. In my opinion, it's ok and human to feel the need for reassurance. I think it would help in many cases, but obviously it's rarely possible.

    For me, especially since I've only recently started learning about all this, it's important to also accept resistance - for now (and work from there).

    @Marie A.
    I never had a TMS diagnoses but I have had some Medical diagnoses. Some are possibly "real" but some are not. One is Dysautonomia. I see a physical therapist who immediately said ALL dysautonomia they see is a disregulated nervous system and nothing more. I rarely if ever have any of those symptoms anymore and when I do, I automatically know to ask myself "what could possibly be making me angry that I don't realize, what does this feeling I am having remind me of from my past".
    I have a back diagnoses of the spine, however it doesn't make any sense with my pain. NONE at all.
    @JanAtheCPA is absolutely correct, a diagnoses does not give you relief. That's still being in the "it's all physical" camp even if the diagnoses is TMS.
    You heal when YOU are in charge, when you can get past the fear to see the truth of your anxiety, and your fear - that it's all thoughts. Just thoughts and nothing more. When you are empowered within yourself, not searching outside yourself for security, fixes, assurances - when you are safe within yourself just as you are. EVEN IF you have symptoms, you are OK. This is not a 100% all the time belief. It doesn't need to be at first, that comes as you do this work - but you need to do it, which you will, with your therapist. You will eventually also need to do the TMS work that helps you get over the fear of the symptoms, but take one step at a time.
    Right now your mind is like a little mouse on a wheel, spinning, thinking trying to solve the way to get out of the cage and TMS keeps trying to keep it "Safe" within that cage. Someday you will be free.

    I was depressed, anxious, had panic attacks and much more. It was very hard. But here I am doing OK now and if I can do this so can you.
