Beloved Grand Eagle
Good little article which is particularly relevant to TMS sufferers, who are often urged by medical advisers, and sometimes by well-meaning family or friends, to plunge into treatment protocols that ultimately don't make sense when the underlying condition is emotionally stress-based.
The essence of the advice is the acronym B.R.A.I.N. based on asking the following questions, from the article
What are the Benefits of this intervention?
What are the Risks?
What are the Alternative options?
What does my Intuition tell me?
What happens if I do Nothing right now?
"When All Else Fails, Remember ‘N,’ for ‘Nothing’
If you don’t have time or energy to go through all five questions, you can ask the N in B.R.A.I.N.: “What happens if I do nothing right now?”"
I really agree with this. Too many people don't think to ask this crucial question, because they are caught up in the fallacy that they need an immediate fix. We see it here all too often!
