Tooth trouble - bite related? Pure TMS?

Adam, great insight. Once, you hear medical experts tell you 'we don't see anything' or 'nothing serious, but it could be' then it's TMS. When the body is in TMS mode, DO NOT focus on the symptoms and try to fix it. Not easy, but continue with your daily tasks and stop creating stories around the symptoms. Your fears and self treatments only prolongs the suffering. It took six months of TMS education, self treatments and finally a medical exam to end my toothache. Not easy, but patience is key to becoming pain free.

@Nabil, indeed patience! Not one of my favorites … Anyway, I had two years ago almost the same experience as you had, these two teeth, that hurt now in September and October, hurt also two years ago, they could not find anything, I got a second opinion with the same result. I went from the dentist’s clinic and next day I already felt better, pain went away. But came back intermittently for a day or so. And now the pain came back and with CT scans they could see the decay in one tooth down to the root. The tooth had to go. And now I still have pain in the other tooth where nothing can be found, also not with CT scans. You see, I am bit suspicious, because the tooth that had to be extracted was already diseased two years ago.
But I am on board that the pain I have now, also the little muscle spasm I am feeling at my left eye (you can’t see the spasms) are TMS. I also seem to have some inflammation in the sinuses, that will also contribute. As you said, patience. Not easy.

@Nabil, I had also at some point light flashes form both sides of my eyes, I had it checked, it was harmless. Anyway, a out the tooth: the dentist checked my scans again and he said he could find nothing that indicate the tooth is sick. He said the neighbor tooth that had been pulled out was nasty, indirectly saying it could be that this is still hurting. It the overall evaluation is: no dental work, I have to wait and see. Even if this tooth is dying for some time (e.g. since two years ago when it hurt the first time) then there should be signs in the surrounding bone. Basically TMS, a strong reaction to a bad tooth that is gone now. The infected sinuses may also contribute. The main driver though is my nervous system that is on high alert. I need to make my brain understand that there is no danger, a hurting tooth is very uncomfortable, but no danger.

@Time2be, That is great news. My toothache was so bad that it would bring tears to my eyes. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, for that past year, I've been battling low back pain. It used to be an 8 where I could barely get up from a sitting position to a 2 in the past few weeks. It took me a while to go from creating stories around the pain, constantly checking in to there's nothing wrong just move on. I've started pushing myself to exercise more and just tackle any task around the house. I did a major drywall repair this past week : - ) It still tries to slow me down, but plowing through the pain seems to be working. The fact that it's not getting worse after heavy weight training means no injury. My subconscious is taking its time. The proven strategy of working through the pain tells the brain there's no danger and should calm the nervous system.

@Nabil, thanks for filling me in. You do the right thing, try to show your brain that there is no danger. I find the ups and down an bit nerve wrecking. Yesterday was a quite good day, today it starts with a bit more pain. I try to be indifferent, but it is difficult.

@Time2be Today, I woke up with a 6 back pain and now it's 12:30pm and it has calmed back down to a 2. Took about 6 hours but once again no injury present since it's back down to a 2 after a busy morning. I was listening to Dr Claire Weekes audiobook on a youtube channel. My first time listening to her material. Very informative.
