Hi,
Back in may I had a routine filling for one of my upper molars. So it's been 4 months now and after the surgery I noticed that there sensitivity in the tooth. Before the filling I had no pain or sensitivity, the dentist just told me I had a cavity and needed a filling. He also shaved it in twice 1 and 2 weeks after I had complained about the cold sensitivity and bite pain in my tooth. So he ruled that out as an uneven bite after shaving and seemed puzzled why I still was having sensitivity/pain. At the end of May he told me to try sensodyne repair and protect. So I did try it and over the period of a few weeks the pain when biting and cold sensitivity went away. The only problem was I hated the taste of the toothpaste so after a few weeks went back to my old toothpaste and then 2 weeks later the pain came back. It's now been 5 days trying Crests version of the same ingredients, which does have a better taste, but it hasn't fixed the problem. I plan on giving it another 3 weeks to let it kick in. but i've been thinking i've had fillings before and the dentists was stumped on why i'd still be having pain/sensitivity which is a sign of TMS. has anyone had this type of symptom, especially the cold sensitivity/ pain when biting? I could see how my brain could learn the sensation, or maybe the filling exposed some part of my tooth or nerve. Not sure but if it is tms i'd love to not let it linger, or treat it physically bc i think that gives it more power so to speak, and reinforces physical problem where their may be none. It is very consistent with pressure or cold and haven't had any exceptions like a neuroplastic symptom would. Hearing others with that and treating it with this approach (or a physical one) would give me some confidence
