Hi all,
I wanted to let you know that Alan Gordon was just on an episode of The Doctors to introduce the concept of psychogenic pain to a 16-year-old boy with chronic symptoms.
Sadly he's been bouncing around from physician to physician for two years (even got several unnecessary surgeries), while all signs point to a psychological origin.
David Clarke and Howard Schubiner were very helpful in ruling out structural causes and were instrumental in helping get Casey to a place where he could accept the diagnosis.
The producers have already talked to us about doing a follow-up episode in a few months once Casey is back in school and playing baseball again.
