    Hi Guys,

Still new here and too the whole TMS side of things. The recovery program along with Sarno's work have really changed my life alongside Jon Kabaat-Zinns audiobooks.

Well, my wife and I have just found out we are expecting our first child, due date early next year. I am super excited and also nervous about doing a good job as a father.

I was wondering if anyone could suggest any good books related to mindful parenting or raising children in a loving caring way?

Thanks all, Absolutely love this incredibly helpful community.

    All the best,

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

Congratulations on the pregnancy! I have a 5 month old baby so I know the excitement and anticipation that comes at this time (and also sometimes the TMS flare ups!)

When I was pregnant I read Jon and Myla Kabat-Zinn's book Everyday Blessings: The Inner Work of Mindful Parenting (https://www.amazon.com/Everyday-Blessings-Inner-Mindful-Parenting/dp/0786883146). Very helpful to get into the right mindset for welcoming a baby!

I also really like Janet Lansbury's writing and podcasts, she writes about respectful parenting and I really like her philosophy. She also has a podcast called "Unruffled" that is in my queue. Here's her website with her writing and recs: http://www.janetlansbury.com/ (Home - Janet Lansbury) She's a child educator, not a psychologist or anything but I like her perspective.
