Blunt, yes, but not "snarky"! You asked for my personal opinion and I gave it—feels like an uncalled for jab at me and the forum. I think the chances of her continued fatigue being due to permanent physical damage are pretty remote (but obviously possible). However, as she doesn't entertain mind-body causes, she's unlikely to find out. With her osteoarthritis, if some pain is mind-body, she's missing that angle too.
No, TMS recovery needs "the work" beyond just professing faith. She does some of it (meditation, mindfulness), but lacks the openness to or belief that her symptoms are mind-body. (Book-based faith cures often fade without deeper work.)

Adding to what Bloodmoon said - I don't want people to think this because then it sounds as if there's a massive bias here that is just trying to push people to the diagnosis. The truth is that 99% of things heal by themselves or if there is a structural issue it gets appropriately dealt with through the relevant treatment (we all just want people to get better, if it is truly structural then wonderful go and get better and fix it). What's left is highly highly likely to be TMS and that's just logical. I didn't sense a snarky tone at all (nor did I feel as if it was emotional) what Bloodmoon said was completely logical to me.

Yeah, I only mentioned her briefly in passing — the author Toni Bernhard. As planned, I'm re-reading one of her books (for the reason I explained in my post here, in case anyone's interested: https://www.tmswiki.org/forum/threads/tms-is-the-perfect-excuse.33456/page-2#post-171131), and I think it's such a shame she isn't open to any of her symptoms being of mind–body origin. That's especially striking since she clearly recognises that mental stress can exacerbate physical symptoms.

In How to Live Well with Chronic Pain and Illness: A Mindful Guide, she writes:
"Being chronically ill has made me more conscious of the interconnectedness of mind and body. I can feel, for example, how emotions are felt in the body and how mental stress can exacerbate physical symptoms."

Imo it's a pity she hasn't taken that insight a step further to consider whether those mind–body processes might be driving the symptoms themselves.
