@ArbyO, I see that you previously created a thread here but all you did was ask about symptoms and people responded that they were likely TMS. Specific symptom help is not what we offer. The best way to receive the kind of help that will actually help you change your life, is to introduce yourself and your story, by creating your own thread in the Support subforum. We don't want a lot of physical details because we are not health professionals and we are not supposed to be providing medical advice.

We do want to know how much you know about TMS and Dr Sarno, and also, briefly, whether you have been medically checked out for your symptoms (see the medical disclaimer at the bottom of every page.)

This forum is devoted to the psychological mechanism that John Sarno MD called Tension Myositis Syndrome, and we try to limit our discussions to the emotional and stress causes of TMS.

    To summarize:

    1. The best introductions from new folks provide a bare minimum of detail on the physical symptoms.

    2.
We definitely need to get a general idea of where you're at regarding TMS knowledge.

    3. If you already have a sense of the possible psychological reasons for your symptoms, we're definitely ready to help you make sense of those and suggest recovery resources.

When I was 10 I was “diagnosed” with globus after a particularly traumatic death of a family member. I used to scratch my throat to try to get rid of it until it was raw: Looking back now, it was maybe the start of my TMS journey, but I was put on beta-blockers. Throughout my adult life I’ve had symptoms of globus in my throat and it would come and go with stress. I was pretty aware that it was stress induced well before I learned about TMS and think I naturally found ways to somatic track (without knowing that’s what I was doing). Now, it has been replaced with severe pain since injury (although I don’t use that word anymore - try anyway) but I sometimes get the globus sensation where the injury site is, sometimes I get globus in other parts of my body. I think it’s a way for my body to reassure me that the familiar scared sad 10 year old is showing up that day.

Long story short, I wish I knew that the globus was TMS before my recent injury as I learned how to heal that before.
