In September 2017 I was ( incorrectly , as far as I'm concerned) diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondilitis. My rheumatologist said I could lead a somewhat regular life, but he phisical activity that I was used to (running mostly) had to stop. He said I would most probably always live in pain. He didn't say it but I knew myself that that meant I would eventually stop being able to work standing up and would probably be bedridden forever at some point.
This naturally meant that I had come to the door of everything I had worked for ( 8 years of medical school) only to come up short and not be able to make a living out of it.
I completely broke me and I have never been so depressed before or after it in my life.
That was a really rough patch for me
