I know I have TMS but I'm out of ideas - anyone offer words of wisdom?

My shoulder are always jacked up and of course it's now an unconscious process. This tension is causing pain in both arms that takes the form of pain, tingling, muscle fatigue and it also effects my shoulders and upper back.

I also have left sided abdominal pain and so called QL muscle pain. I have been extensively checked and the symptoms are medically unexplained.

How can I stop this jacking up of my shoulders and in truth I have developed something of a stress tic which is where all this started.

You might try Chi Gong or Tai Chi. There are online routines available. They are considered moving meditation. I do at least 40 minutes every day. Besides the meditation aspect, they are a range of motion for the whole body which helps relax all those muscles and joints. One tool to help in the tsm world.

Well, you've been around for a while @Barkis, and I'm going to point you to this response I provided to you last summer:
    https://www.tmswiki.org/forum/threads/ruling-out-the-physical.28466/#post-148982 (Ruling out the physical)
with the question: have you ever done the work? If you have, and find yourself still tripped up by setbacks, you may need more help, meaning therapy. Therapists are pretty busy these days because so many people with intractable anxiety are really struggling with existential fear and uncertainty in these times.

That's also good advice from @Smokey73. Along with a physical practice to learn how to change your muscle tension, you also must learn how to manage your anxiety - the two go hand in hand. Start with this small book: Hope and Help for Your Nerves, by Claire Weekes.

    Thank you.

you are totally correct in that I have health anxiety and therefore existential issues. I've had so much therapy but it has never brought about a lasting solution. My saving grace is that I have overcome some long standing symptoms but as mentioned once they were gone (which was astonishing in itself) a new symptom arises and the merry go round continues.

Actually, Chi Gong and Tai Chi, are the two exercises I haven't tried so I will investigate them.

However, at the moment the tension is terrible and it gets me down.

    Best
