My 72-year-old father has full back stiffness from upper to lower back for 2 months, plus neck stiffness, both hands numbness, and balance issues. Diabetes is now controlled, heart and BP are normal. He fits the TMS personality perfectly constant stress, controlling nature, irritated by small things.
We saw a neurologist. He suspects cervical myelopathy (spinal cord compression) as one possibility, but confirmation will only come after the MRI results in a few days.
My question to this group: Has anyone had a suspected or diagnosed cervical myelopathy that turned out to be TMS? Or where symptoms improved significantly through mind-body work despite the MRI findings? I healed myself years ago through Dr. Sarno and Vipassana, so I know this path but it's harder when it's your father.
Grateful for any shared experiences.
