Hello,
I am 33-year-old male. First of I would like to thank you for creating this forum. I have been following all the posts regarding TMS for the past 1 week and I think I might be a candidate for TMS but I am having a hard time analyzing. Below is my story.
In the first week of December 2023, I had severe flu and to get rid of that, my family doctor prescribed me a Tamiflu for 10 days. I got better day by day but at the end of the treatment, I started having a pinching-like feeling and heaviness in my groin while urinating. I went to the family doctor again and he diagnosed UTI immediately without any tests and prescribed me Cipro for a week. My symptoms didn't go away so I went to the family doctor once again and he ordered urine tests, STD tests, and pelvic ultrasound. All reports came back normal. Then doctor told me that I had Prostatitis continued Cipro and introduced an alpha-blocker. Due to the side effects of alpha-blockers, doctors referred me to the urologist and stopped all my medications. I got an appointment in March but somehow my symptoms reduced on their own. But I continued with good hydration and cranberry juice.
But after a month, the symptoms returned. Then my family doctor ordered a CT scan but everything came normal. In the meantime, I took nitrofurantoin 100mg and alpha blockers for 2 weeks. But I didn't see any difference. When I visited a urologist in March, he prescribed me a heavy dose of cephalexin and alpha blockers for a month. My symptoms are still on and off. In the meantime, I visited another urologist who told me that I may be suffering from depression there was nothing wrong with my urine system. I got so much confused. I am still taking medicines prescribed by my first urologist.
I have seen at least 8 doctors in the last 3 months. I have been through 6 urine tests, 2 blood tests, an ultrasound, a PSA, and a CT scan. Nothing came out. I still have symptoms like urinary pain, urinary burning, pain in the groin etc. The symptoms continue after urination too. One more thing I would like to mention is I have been through a lot of stressful events in 2023. That stress was so much that I would say it was the highest stress in my whole life. I need help figuring out if this is an actual issue or if it is all in my head.
Thank you..
