Audio Stories from the Frontline of Psychosomatic Illness.

Beloved Grand Eagle
Hi All,

I've just been listening to a podcast by neurologist Dr Suzanne O'Sullivan who is the author of It's All in Your Head: Stories from the Frontline of Psychosomatic Illness.

The book looks interesting and supposedly full of case studies. However, judging my Amazon there seems to be a huge backlash from the ME/CFS community, who have yet again, rejected there is a mind-body component and given it poor reviews.

An interesting article

Best regards

Mike

Very interesting. Too bad about the title of the book "It's all in your head". It will turn off many patients "But my pain is real..". After all the efforts to educate people about psycho-somatic (mind & body) illnesses.

I feel the same about Dr. Schechter's book "Think away your pain". *Gasp*. Thinking does not accomplish anything. Feeling does. Very unfortunate.

I agree with you totally, the title certainly does provoke a reaction. Maybe that's what she set out to do.

I guess any book on this topic will touch a nerve, Dr Sarnos book certainly does, with many.

On another note, I read the book has won an award, so I'm sure it will have some fascinating case studies and insight.
