Starting Day 1 of the pain recovery

Redhead5591

Newcomer
Hello, I have been suffering from sciatica pain for over 3 years. I have been down all the usual paths and finally after reading Dr. Sarno's book and also Alan Gordon I am here. I am hoping to find others who are starting this journey also or have completed it and how they feel now. Please wish me luck. I am so hoping this works.

hi @Redhead5591 - Glad you are here! I have gotten a lot of benefit from this forum as well as Dr. Sarno's book and the wisdom of other leaders in the TMS field so you are in the right place. I can attest to the effectiveness of this approach in dealing with both intermittent severe low-back pain as well as pelvic pain. I encourage you to read the various success stories and resource recommendations elsewhere in this forum - they are inspirational and reassuring that "this works". Best of luck in your journey!

Thank you so much, I am doing the pain recovery program day by day. Did you use this program on Wiki on your journey?

We actually have three free programs, which I have tried to compare and contrast in this post: https://www.tmswiki.org/forum/threa...d-educational-program.555/page-10#post-154071. This was in response to a particular question, and one of these days I need to lay it out more logically... in my spare time :p (it may help to read the original question: https://www.tmswiki.org/forum/threa...ed-educational-program.555/page-9#post-154057)

There is no "right" way to do one, two, or all three programs, as I think my post might indicate! There are distinct differences in the two extensive programs, which appeal to different people. The SEP is going to ask you to go deeper, whereas the PRP is based mostly on retraining your brain to recognize and reject fear. This is appealing to people who don't want to get into emotionally vulnerable territory, but... sometimes it only offers short-term benefits, and the brain finds other ways to keep repressing the emotional conflicts, and the result of continuing to repress is continuing to suffer.
