This is somewhat off-point however I realize a few here live with sleep apnea. I was diagnosed quite a while prior to have mild sleep apnea that required no treatment. I just got re-tested and the outcomes returned saying I have moderate sleep apnea, so my specialist recommended a CPAP machine. I have the arrangement to get set up and prepared in July. They said I will get a loaner machine for a month with the goal that I can evaluate different alternatives before choosing what to buy.

I'm simply thinking about whether anybody here has any tips, and furthermore in the event that anybody is aware of an online resource for the sleep apnea supplies. I travel a lot for work, including a medium-term trip the week after I'll get the CPAP, so have inquiries around that aspect specifically.

    Patrick,
I have 16 years of TMS/MINDBODY work under my belt and I was very lucky to see Dr sarno in 2004. I am 95% better. I have severe sleep apnea. I've been on CPAP about 8 years. I question how much repressed emotions are a factor. The jury is still out on that one. That said, sleep apnea would be beating the crap out of my body If I weren't on CPAP, so for now I'll stay on CPAP. It's like the high blood pressure I had. I told my doctor I would treat it with meditation. he said no, you will treat it with medication and after the meditation brings your blood pressure down I will take you off the medication. So I followed that plan and now I'm off medication for high blood pressure. I hope to do the same for sleep apnea in the future. We will see. I use At home medical for my supplies. But, if you have a company that's giving you a machine to try for a couple months, it sounds like you have a good company. There are some pretty small machines you can get for traveling. also as it is a medical device, you can take it on the plane as an additional carry on. You can send me a private conversation I'll be glad to share my CPAP experiences with you. I am away from 5pm thur- 11am Monday.

    Hi Patrick,
I also have sleep apnea and have used CPAP for 7 yr. The companies supplying my equipment have always been helpful and my insurance has covered most of the cost. It was an adjustment to get used to the mask. I had to experiment with 3-4 different types before I found the right one for me. So do look into the head gear and masks. I travel with CPAP and cant really sleep without it now. Feel free to contact me as well if you like. Good luck.

May I asked if you are overweight? Did you consider natural treatment?

i am 30 lbs overweight. my sleep apnea gets worse with more weight, better w less weght. when i lose more weight, ill reevaluate my options. i would never go w/o CPAP until the OSA is corrected. to me that would be very damaging
