Skin issues (acne and hives)

Hello,

I have used TMS mindset in the past to treat some issues such as carpal tunnel and some shoulder issues. It has truly changed my life finding this website and this community. However over the last 2 months I have had the following list of symptoms which i believe have to be TMS but are causing me significant amounts of distress.

I broke out in hives all over my stomach after getting angry at something my father did it was almost instantly after I was angry that I broke out in this rash and this lasted for almost 2 weeks it wasn't a big deal but it itched severely. During the span of this 2 months I have been to the optometrist 4 times about issues seeing at night and finally come to find out I had been overcorrected and suffering from some dry eye. I went back a final time and my vision was confirmed to be in the correct prescirption but I still feel things are off at night but I noticed that I am really squinting my eyes alot which I think is causing this blurriness. This whole debacle with my eyes caused me anxiety so bad I almost wanted to cry. Now we get to what im currently dealing with which is consuming my life, I am 25 took accutane in the past for moderate acne and now my acne has came back however very mildly. This first started when I broke out some on my back and shoulders which in the past when I did have acne it was never here it was on my forehead and face. This cause me extreme anxiety but I prayed that it just wouldnt come back on my face and prayed. About 2 weeks go by the back acne clears up after using some OTC acne wash there are still some dark spots but no new active acne. Now this week I have clear bumps all over my forehead almost like eczema and some blackheads. And today I had a new red bump on my cheek and I am freaking out, I am not even able to get anything done at work because I just keep rechecking my face over and over. The acne is very very mild and I have still had some mild acne after accutane like pimples here and there every week but now its like the texture of my skin itself has changed and I am terrified. I truly believe with the hives, back acne, vision, and this this has got to be tms. I will also note I am an avid weightlifter and somewhat obsessed with my apperance so this is why I think this is TMS. I could retake accutane it wasnt a terrible experience it just is so weird im having these skin issues at 25 when I feel like I should be past this. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Notes about my personality:
- extremely hard on myself
- very empathetic
- obsessed over changing my hairstyle or appearance (a lot of this has to do with me struggling with women over the last few years)
- Very anxious 24/7 always stuck in fight or flight
- Have a constant inner monologue with myself

If anyone could also mention how do I get started with the TMS approach ive always just used it for pain but never really did any journaling or anything, but I think with this skin stuff I will have to journal. In my head my acne is so bad I don't even want to look at myself in the mirror or even leave my room, it is really affecting my productivity at work and I am CPA so I have a very high stress job. The feelings with the acne are definitely just trauma from the past when mine was pretty bad and I just wanted to cry every single day.

Thanks

Hi! You're not going to be past it until this fear reduces, as being terrified is what's fuelling it (assuming TMS).

I would first tweak your mindset a bit because you're talking as if TMS is just another treatment, like I'll try this, I'll try that etc. It's not, it's a diagnosis - so if you have TMS then it isn't just something you try, it's the only option. One doesn't try TMS, one has TMS, so it's the only treatment. It would be like saying I'm going to give it a go treating it as cancer, that wouldn't make sense as you either have cancer or you don't.

I would start with the Structured program on this site :) - https://www.tmswiki.org/ppd/Structured_Educational_Program (Structured Educational Program)
