My index finger has blown up significantly. The PCP thinks this is tofaceous gout and told me to see a rheumatologist. Is this a classic TMS symptom? It has been going on for about 3 weeks. How would u go about getting rid of it. I just finished MB Prescription.

I would follow the advice of your PCP and follow up with a rheumatologist. Only pursue TMS after medical causes have been ruled out.

Keep us posted on how you're doing and best wishes.

I learn something new every day, even at 84.
I didn't know that gout can show up in a finger.
I thought it was only in a toe.

I suspect it is from TMS, but to be sure, see the rheumatologist.

While waiting for that, I suggest you go ahead and believe it is from TMS.
Look into any repressed emotions and a perfectionist or goodist personality.

If it was a swollen ankle, I'd say you might be pregnant.

Maybe if you're yelling at your husband, don't point your index finger at him.
Instead, put that finger in some melted chocolate and lick it off.

Just trying to be helpful. haha

    Is gout a TMS equivalent?
