Root, a Sarno-Inspired Podcast

Hi everyone!

Nearly a year ago, I wrote a post about my story of recovery and the blog, Inner Machinations, where I chronicled the process. Well, like most efforts of mice and men... the blog didn't go exactly according to plan! I do intend to continue writing from time to time, but for now, life has other ideas.

One of those ideas is still very much in the TMS world, and I hope it will be helpful to readers here: alongside my former boss Dan Stern, I am now the host of Root, a podcast where we discuss our own histories with TMS and interview others at various junctures along the recovery spectrum.

We have several episodes published and ready to listen to right now, but we're also looking for guests! If you would like to talk to us, please comment or send me a message! Again, we're looking for a range of people, so you don't have to feel as if you've "fully recovered." (In fact, our two most recent episodes are about my most recent setback, so perhaps "fully recovered" is a nonsense term anyway!) Simply put, if you want to talk all things TMS, please reach out!

Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Nick

Heya Nick, this is an exciting new project. I did really enjoy the writing on your blog, and I'm really interested to listen to your new podcast. I'll use Spotify if I have to, I have a free account to listen to the occasional playlist from NPR, but I turn off notifications and don't check it. Do you have a standard RSS feed for open-source podcast apps? (mine is Antennapod, fwiw).

Thanks for your kind words, Jan! Working on getting the podcast ported over to other forums -- I'll report back in the coming days!

Although I will say, given that our listenership is rather low right now... I wonder if there are any ads in our Spotify episodes! I'd be interested to hear if there are.

Well, Nick, I listened to all the episodes yesterday and was planning to give my thumbs-up review - and I can say that there weren't any ads inserted into the audio, even in my non-premium version of the app.

You and Dan are a real pleasure to listen to. You are both articulate, open, emotionally honest and vulnerable, and you have a really enjoyable rapport. Your discussions about the ups and downs and the nuances of living with our TMS brains are realistic and right on.

Highly recommended!
