Beloved Grand Eagle
The following is imo a very practical book about using neuroplasticity in as simple a way as possible to change your brain, that I wish I had read years ago (however, it was only published at the end of last year)... and the book is only 77pence on UK Kindle and just $0.99 on US Kindle!

'Rewire Your Mind Without Willpower: A Brain-Based Guide to Breaking Mental Loops, Calming the Nervous System & Creating Lasting Change' by Steven Oats

The following are some reviews of the book on Amazon which I wholeheartedly agree with...

"Science-based help for an overactive mind
I found this book really refreshing because it doesn’t blame you for overthinking or tell you to “just think positive.” Instead, it explains in very simple language how patterns in the brain and nervous system are formed, and how you can slowly reshape them with tiny, repeatable practices rather than willpower or motivation. I especially liked the focus on safety and regulation first (calming the nervous system) and then gently interrupting thought loops, instead of trying to “fight” your mind into changing.

If you’re exhausted from trying affirmations, mindset hacks, or forcing yourself to relax, this feels much kinder and more realistic, small shifts, steady repetition, and a very human tone that reminds you there’s nothing wrong with you while you learn to work with your mind instead of against it."

"A Gentle, Science‑Informed Path to Real Change
A remarkably insightful and humane approach to rewiring the mind. The author has a rare ability to translate complex psychological concepts into simple, actionable steps that feel accessible even on difficult days. What stands out most is the compassion woven through every chapter — no pressure, no perfectionism, just steady guidance rooted in how the brain and nervous system actually work. The blend of somatic practices, micro‑pauses, and attention training creates a method that feels both modern and deeply practical. It’s the kind of book that quietly shifts how you relate to your thoughts and emotions, offering relief without hype. A powerful companion for anyone seeking lasting, sustainable change."

"one-of-a-kind book.
I was very happy and surprised to find a book so different from all the others I have been reading in the self-help or guides.

These pages are not meant to help you “fix yourself”, or changing who you are. They are intended to help you understand how your brain/ mind works, the patterns you created along the way and in a very delicate way make subtle changes by using the brain’s own capacity to rewire itself."
