Return of the Sciatica…

Hi all,

Hoping for some guidance.

It’s been a while since I have been on this site. I was frequenting the site yrs ago when I was suffering from sciatica. The people, knowledge and the programs helped me through it and I was pain free for yrs until recently. A few months ago, the sciatica returned with a vengeance and for the second time has taken the centre stage.

Lots happened in my life lately - new job, moved to our first house (lot of renovation) and my parents visiting from overseas while we are still settling into our new house.

My new job is very stressful and I believe I have been stressed with the house move and renovation and trying to make my parents feel comfortable.

I’m not sure how to tackle this second bout of sciatica. The first time I had it, I read books and did the Structured Educational Program.

Do I repeat the above or shall I be doing something different the second time?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Cheers
Shori

P.S - Apologies for the long read. I felt I needed to explain my situation thoroughly.

You can repeat the SEP or pick a new daily, structured program like Schubiner's Unlearn Your Pain. There are others. The important thing is to pick a structured program and do it every day for an hour or so. Then live your life the rest of the day to the best of your ability. Let the exercises and readings percolate in your unconscious. This is the only path to success that I'm aware of.

Haha, @Shori - in the world of long reads yours doesn't even make the top 100 :hilarious:

Sorry you're back, but you've got plenty of company. In addition to LIFE stuff, there's the inevitable march of time hanging over us, along with the pretty massive uncertainty of an unprecedented number of outside existential threats to our well-being and equanimity.

But, closer to home, as you revisit the SEP, you might consider writing about your automatic need to apologize for what is actually a concise recap of where you're at - which by the way, was 99% psychologically oriented, as it should be ;) You're well ahead of the curve, and I expect that you've got this!

Thank you for taking out the time to read my post. I’ll restart with a structured program.
