Hi, over the years I’ve had knee pain, then back pain, and now back pain has been replaced by acid reflux (but the kind that goes to your throat so I have painful sore throat for 1+ Yrs and it’s getting worse so I have trouble talking sometimes). Is reflux throat pain something that can be healed through this? In other words, can it be caused by TMS? Whenever I read back pain in the assigned readings, I try to replace it with sore throat, and I know sarno mentions reflux in his book, but just want to be sure that my throat pain can be TMS?

Hi LP,
I had that some time back. No fun. Mine was because of taking magnesium. It relaxed the sphincter muscle and allowed acid to travel north.
It was not due to TMS. However, stomach is full of nerves and can easily be affected by tension.

Thank you so much! Yeah I wasn’t sure if it could be TMS because there are times where my throat starts to hurt when I’m feeling anxious or upset but then I know I have a sore throat (I can see it when I open my mouth) so I know that’s what is really causing the pain. Thank you for the alternative remedy!
