peer-to-peer health care

    I thought this article was interesting; it's not about TMS, it's about heart disease, but it talks about how people are more likely to listen to stories from other people versus just reading information:

    I see this as very much like what we are all doing here--sharing our stories and supporting each other on our path to recovery from TMS.

    that is really interesting and something I can totally relate to. Reading Dr. Sarno's books were helpful, but I really only accepted the diagnosis after I read a bunch of stories from other people. After reading so many success stories I just thought, there has to be something to this. I remember being amazed that so many people were going through the same thing that I was. This is one of the reasons I think this site and the www.thankyoudrsarno.org are so terrific. Not only do I think people can be helped from our stories, but I think we can empower ourselves simply by sharing them.
