overreactions

Diseases such as covid-19 and influenza can be fatal due to an overreaction of the body's immune system called a cytokine storm. The virus itself may not be entirely to blame for such turn of events, but rather an overreaction by the body's immune system.
That's suspiciously similar to autoimmune disorders (lupus, multiple sclerosis,...). But in that case the "enemy" to fight and/or neutralize doesn't come from the outside.

I wonder if "the real issue" is always the same: an overprotective, hypervigilant brain tring to desperately protect us from a "very dangerous attack", from the outside ... or from the inside, real or supposed, material (substances: pollen, viruses, tissue damages, gluten, bacteria, toxic chemicals,...) ... or emotional (rage, anger, frustration, ressentment, "bad feelings and thoughts",...)

"Survival first of all" : that's the main target of our brain !
