Hi All,
I have been aware of TMS for about 4 years now. I discovered TMS about a year after I graduated college. I had many health problems after my college graduation, all of which were TMS induced. I was hypochondria-cal. I kept thinking I was sick, but the doctors couldn't find anything. A coworker gave me the Sarno book to read because I started to have severe back pain after the doctors couldn't find anything wrong with me. After reading the book, all of my pain symptoms disappeared, though, I became incredibly anxious.
I saw a Physician here in Chicago who specializes in TMS and he was able to refer me to a therapist. Fast forward to now, I still am struggling with my anxiety. I got engaged almost a year ago and have become even more anxious since then. I have been a lot more active in my journaling practices, but I'm finding it hard to really overcome the anxiety.
I'm particularly stuck at the moment due because I have been obsessing over something that I think I did illegally. I have talked to my therapist and he believes that I don't think I actually did something wrong and that I shouldn't worry. It's hard for me to accept because I feel like what I did was actually wrong. It's hard to overcome this fear because I'm not a lawyer so it's hard to just brush it off as if I'm alright. I'm trying to journal everyday now, but the intrusive thoughts are still hard to control. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
