new and somewhat frustrated

New Member
Hi, I am a 75 y\o woman.
Have been suffering from hip groin leg pain for the last 7+months.
Great difficulty as far as walking is concerned.
Read 2 Sarno's books. Following his ideas for the last 3 months. But pain is still excruciating.
X-Rays Osteoarthritis, bulge , Stenosis severe.

Somewhat frustrated and not sure what to do.
Your kind support and advice appreciated.

I'd also recommend going to the 'success stories' forum to read about people's recoveries to give you encouragement http://www.tmswiki.org/forum/forums/support-subforum.26/ (Support Subforum). If you read around the forums on this website you will see that people use various techniques to recover (in addition to what Dr Sarno recommended) - meditation, mindfulness, deep breathing exercises, affirmations, visualization techniques, qigong (if you can stand up okay and move your arms around) and so on...I think you'll find this website with its forums to be an absolute mine of information.

There are also other books on TMS that you could consider reading - I'm still on my own TMS journey to recovery and, for instance, I'm finding Scott Brady's book Pain Free For Life very helpful https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pain-Free-...F8&qid=1541882566&sr=1-1&keywords=scott+brady.

eden77, I have not been here long, but still want to say "welcome". I am just a year younger than you and am also working my way through all the materials that are available to help us. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 36 years ago, but can see that I had symptoms of TMS for years before that! You are not alone in your quest to have a life!

BloodMoon has given us both lots of direction on where to look for help. Thank you, BloodMoon! You mentioned some things I wasn't aware of.

The only advice that I feel confident to share with you, ede77, is "Hang in there! It's going to be okay!" You are on the right path to feeling better! I am working on being patient as it sometimes takes a long time to recover.

This forum is full of wonderful people! By Sarno's definition of the TMS personality, we are all "goodists", so we want to help others. What a concept, isn't it?

I hope you will find some relief soon! You are not alone!
