I am desperate for help so please if you are dealing with this, give me hope that this is TMS. I have been having neck problems for quite sometime and have been on this forum. The last few months have been extremely bad for me and 6 weeks ago I bent my head over to dry my hair and brought my head back up. Ever since then I have had the worst neck pain and stiffness ever. If I move around my neck stiffens up so much it's like my spine is being strangled. I have burning pain and can't move my head very far. To say I am depressed and anxious is an understatement so I realize that this is not helping. I feel like I can't live this way and it makes me even more anxious. Please tell me about stories that you have experienced the same and it got better.

    Hi, @Meblue
This forum is brimming with success stories! And also with great resources. Your TMS brain chose a neck ache for you. Other people get different symptoms—but it’s all for the same reason—to keep you from digging into your emotions. Your TMS brain wants you to be scared to death and distracted by your neck ache. You need to get out a piece of paper and start journaling up a storm to try to figure out what you could be mad about. Think about things in your life that you think are going really well. There’s probably something underneath that is not good. Look at all the stressors in your life.

Have you read any books by John Sarno? The MindBody Prescription is good. You can also start our free course, the structured educational program. You need to get your mind away from your body and onto your emotions. That’s the very first step.

TMS is not fatal, even though it feels terrible. It’s just your body talking.

If you have been checked out by your doctor and don’t have anything seriously wrong with you— You can get better; absolutely better! So take heart! And start your journey. We will support you!

Your thread from March already contains everything you need to know, @Meblue. Posting again a few months later won't produce substantially different responses. Back then you finally admitted you had not been medically cleared to proceed with a TMS self diagnosis. We cannot diagnose here.

You can find success stories in the Success Stories subforum, and you can use our search box for the keywords/symptoms you want to read about.
