Day 1 Musician with RSI

Newcomer
I have 100 percent accepted that what I have is TMS. Having tried doctors, splints, stretches, weights, PT, expensive piano lessons, technique training, to no avail, I was feeling desperate and despondent. I felt like my future was robbed from me. Now I feel like things are going to be ok.

It's hard to have 0 doubt. A little voice in my head tells me "Maybe you're more injured than anyone else here. Maybe you can't be helped. Maybe you'll float through life doing as little as possible with your hands". It's crazy the things out minds tell us, when we don't take care of ourselves.

atticusk93,
the vast, VAST majority of "injured musicians" aren't damaged. They are in pain .... but not injured. After all playing a musical instrument is not wrestling!
So, RSI (repetitive strain injury) should be renamed RSP (repetitive stress pain). Same with chronic tendonitis (an oxymoron), tennis elbow and so on.
Mere myths.
Please have a look at :

and ponder deeply about the emotional triggers of your pain. The emotional link of a musician with his/her instrument is incredibly powerful: simultaneously love... and hate.
Think honestly about it.
Good luck!
M.
