Day 4 Most disheartening thing doctors have told me - I can't find anything wrong with you

As the title states, definitely the most frustrating and disheartening thing I've experienced while going through 3 different doctors, 2 specialists, and 3 physiotherapists, is that they can't seem to find anything wrong with me that would produce my RSI symptoms in my left arm and hand (pain, tension, numbness, tingling). A few were even pretty dismissive of my symptoms. One of them sent me off to a nerve conduction test and MRI. Nerve conduction showed that everything was normal, and the MRI showed a faint muscle strain in my hand which should produce little to no physical pain or symptoms.

I now see that it was this frustration that made my symptoms progressively worse. At best, it would go away for a day, then come back with a vengeance the following day.

Thankfully, it was the acceptance and realisation that there is nothing structurally wrong with me that led me to check out Dr. Sarno's Mindbody Prescription, and conclude that what I have is TMS.

It's been a depressing journey as my TMS has hindered my ability to work (full time musician), and has also caused me to stop participating in my favourite hobbies (brazilian jiu jitsu). I am now back to playing as per normal, and have resumed BJJ. Most of my symptoms are gone, except for the lingering numbness, but that too is starting to go away. I find that the less I think about the numbness, the less it feels numb. Is that common for the rest of you as well? The less you think of the physical symptoms, the less they manifest themselves.

Hi, zebutter. Congratulations on your healing. It is obvious to me that your symptoms were caused by TMS emotions. It's wonderful that you discovered TMS and turned your mind from thinking your pains were structural. Your post should be an inspiration for others, especially those who are not convinced 100 percent that their pain is TMS and not structural.
