Linking to a specific comment

Permalinks don't appear on mobile phones...all good as gold on my iPad. Yes, it is a simple cut and paste, thank you.

There's a helpful little tip that works if you want to link to a specific post. The date that appears under each post is actually a link that goes directly to that specific post.

If you click on the date and then copy the resulting URL from your browser's address bar, you can link directly to the specific post.

For example, this is the link to the entire thread:
http://www.tmswiki.org/forum/threads/linking-to-a-specific-comment.13011/ (Linking to a specific comment)

In contrast, this is the link to @mncjl123's first reply:
http://www.tmswiki.org/forum/threads/linking-to-a-specific-comment.13011/#post-68410 (Linking to a specific comment)

The difference is the "#post-68410" part at the end. In URLs, the number sign generally refers to a specific portion of a web page, such as a specific post.

If you're on a computer or anything with a pretty wide screen, you can also click on the post number on the right of the screen. That will give you additional options for linking to that post:

For example, if I click on @mncjl123's second post, above, the following box pops up. Cool, eh?
