Hi there. I am a 40 year old mom of two boys who has been on this site awhile, been struggling with pain in my right leg (mostly knee and calf area) for about a year. Also a year ago, I began having extremely high anxiety after worrying over a possible disease which has since been ruled out. I started this program a couple of months ago, but only went to week 2 when I decided to wait until I saw the specialist on 9/29 to rule out any disease. Thankfully, I was told there is no disease, and that the pain is possibly structural from my knee MRI.

So, I would say I am as close as I will ever be to fully accepting the TMS diagnosis. I am ready to get started, stick with it, and move on with life. I wouldn't be honest if I didn't say there are some small doubts that pop up here and there, and I'm a little afraid. My anxiety is SO high today...but here I go.

Hi, SSG. It's no fun to be in any kind of pain, but at least the specialist has said you have no disease
and the pain is structural as seen in the knee MRI. But that has left you with doubts about the knee pain
coming from TMS. Now you at least can stop worrying about disease causing the pain.
It may be hard for you to believe 100 percent that the pain is from TMS but that is necessary.
If your subconscious thinks you believe it is in any way structural, it will keep the pain coming
or even move it around, until you accept TMS completely.

The SEP will help you to full belief in TMS.

To stop the anxiety, try positive imagery. Your mind is processing worry and negative thoughts,
so change them to positive. TMS therapists suggest imagining yourself in a pleasant place,
stress-free, like a sunny beach. Think of the place where you were most happy and imagine
yourself being back there. Practice deep breathing while doing the imaging.

I hope this helps. Mainly, keep faith that you are going to become free of pain, through what
    Dr. Sarno calls "TMS Penicillin."

Have a great weekend and hug those boys.

    Walt,

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement. I have noticed that when I talk to myself (silently), I can reason myself in to believing it 100%. Then the pain does let up or go away, but my old thought patterns soon reappear, with doubt and worry, then the pain is back. I do think my pain is moving, it just stays in the right leg. It will go from hamstring to ankle and in between. Thanks for the support!

Hi SSG thanks for sharing, I too felt the same emotions such as anxiety, fear and doubts of whether this will work or not but the more doubts and fear i built inside psychologically, suddenly the more pain I felt physically so I got rid of all these emotions and yesterday the physical pain I felt for a year dropped to the point where I just picked myself up and went for a run. I'm new to this and still in process and I wish you all the best! Can't wait to hear when you win this fight ! :)

Thanks! It's great to hear someone else who is currently seeing so much success! Don't they say success breeds success? So I'm sure there is more to come for you! I can't wait to hear more!
