Just started today. Have come across TMS after half a lifetime of pain. I'm 71. I was diagnosed with focal hand dystonia 25 years ago. I question this diagnosis now although I have suffered and do suffer with muscle spams in the arms and hands. I gritted my teeth and lived with it - fairly well too. But things have got much worse in the last two years, coinciding with a cluster of high pressure life events. As far as I can see, there is no external saviour to take away the pain. Excruciating pain (which I have right now) is not a necessary condition of dystonia, and my assumption is that my problems are psychogenic. In my conscious mind I am convinced about the merits of TMS. My unconscious mind has another view, that I need to overcome. That's why I am commited to the programme. I'm happy to post on progress as it happens. Best wishes to everyone else!
