Hi.....I'm new to this site. Thanks to Forest and Matt for figuring out how to get me connected. Four months ago I suddenly developed a pain in my arm and laughed it off as sympathy pains for my son who was getting arthroscopic surgery for a torn labrum. However, the pain became more intense and moved up to my shoulder. After many doctor visits, MRI's, x-rays, nerve tests, blood tests and a cortisone shot, I decided I had TMS based on the books by Dr. Sarno that I was reading. I stopped all medications and allowed the pain to go from the left shoulder to the right shoulder. Pain in now in my wrist too. I also started psychotherapy as I truly did feel it was a mindbody connection. I visited with Dr. Rashbaum of Rusk Institute at NYU and the TMS was confirmed. I now have an appointment with a TMS therapist. And am looking forward to the drop-in chats on Saturdays.

Hi, Laine. It sounds like you're in the right place. Welcome! This is a very supportive, non-judgmental group of folks, and we know what it's like to battle persistent pain.
Have you read any of Dr. Sarno's books? My favorite is Healing Back Pain, but he's the TMS guru, and all of his books are good.
