It could be an infection that might need medical treatment, but it could indeed be caused by TMS.
In Healing
Back Pain, Dr. Sarno refers to laryngitis being of emotional origin. In The Mindbody Prescription Sarno indicates that he believes spastic dysphonia to be psychogenic, and in The Divided Mind he writes:
“The patient may experience a wide variety of highly debilitating maladies, including muscle weakness or paralysis, feelings of numbness or tingling, total absence of sensation, blindness, inability to use their vocal cords, and many others, all without any physical abnormalities in the body to account for such symptoms.”
In Steve O's book, he says he had a squeezing throat (globus pharyngitis) which left with TMS healing and is a TMS equivalent.
Tiago Forte, a well-known productivity and mind-body writer, described in detail his struggle with unexplained throat pain and loss of voice control in his essay “Unspeakable Pain: A Personal Journey Through Psychosomatic Illness.” He recounts how a scratchy throat escalated to severe pain and vocal dysfunction, leading him to seek medical and alternative therapies. Ultimately, he found that addressing the
psychosomatic roots—the interplay between mind and body—was crucial to his recovery

Yep, might well be! In another recent thread of yours
@Diana-M gave you this imo very sage advice:
Diana was advising you to do exactly what your TMSing brain doesn't want you to do... so maybe if your intention was to take her advice to stop getting sidetracked etc., your TMSing brain has responded by saying "okay, great, I'll shut you up physically then, and that'll put your conscious mind into overdrive!".
In one of Louise Hay's books (I've got a compendium of her books called The Essential Louise Hay Collection) she lists all manner of maladies and what she believes they mean; with throat issues she writes that they are to do with
"Swallowed anger. Stifled creativity. Refusal to change." and specifically for laryngitis
"So mad you can’t speak. Fear of speaking up. Resentment of authority."
