Day 40 It’s been a while

Question To Ponder
How would you change this program to make it more effective?

It’s been a while since I last checked in here. I’ve been working part-time for about a month to a month and a half, and by the time I got home, I was usually too exhausted to have the energy to work on the SEP.

To make this program more effective for me, I think I need to go back and review the process from Day 1 up to where I am now. I also want to reread the educational activities, so I can reinforce in my brain the idea that these symptoms are really related to emotions.

I’m also thinking about starting meditation again, since I took a break from it for a while.

For those of you who experienced slower-than-expected symptom improvement, what changes did you make in your approach or routine?

I think that's a great idea!

I think it's really hard to define "slower than expected" and that will be different for everyone. What I would say is that as long as you are working to constantly reinforce your belief in the TMS diagnosis (by both reviewing evidence you already have but also by being open to new evidence and picking up on it - and for new evidence to blossom you likely have to be matching your actions with the TMS diagnosis as much as possible, which means a return to full activity or at least moving towards it - acting as if you are okay as much as possible in addition to believing in it) and you are working towards greater self-compassion (which includes setting boundaries, being accepting of all your emotions, validating your past experiences fully and taking care of your own needs), then you can't go too far wrong :)
