Is there a chat today?

No, Bealillie, when I offered to moderate a chat today I received word back NO. However, I didn't offer my services until yesterday Friday and the protocol is to announce on Wednesday. Perhaps next week? Think there hasn't been a chat now for a couple of weeks.

Hi Bruce
Yes I realized last week or week before that there were no alerts I haven't been able to come that regularly actually I could. I just haven't so in any case I will keep checking. Is it because there's not enough people coming on?

Partly volunteers to run chat, partly users but a big chunk of it is that @JanAtheCPA is doing all the behind the scenes work, and she needs to be able to simply say no sometimes and not be tied to her computer. She puts in tireless hours volunteering to steer this ship, but she also needs to get out and live life.
Thank you @JanAtheCPA for all you do!

Thanks, Cactusflower! ;)

For the record, since this hasn't been addressed recently, the chat room can't be open without an authorized host, and none of them has signed up recently. They must do this on Wednesday night US time, so that first thing on Thursday morning I can set up the room timers and the Friday/Saturday pop-up notices. As @Cactusflower has surmised, this protocol clearly sets aside and minimizes the amount of time I need to spend doing the task, or even thinking about it.

The chat was going to be shut down two years ago when the long-time scheduler resigned and most of the hosts had lost interest due to declining attendance. I've been maintaining the software module as a favor for the few hosts who wanted to keep it going, but attendance is almost non-existent, which I confirmed recently when I decided to host, just to see how many people came by. To be perfectly honest, I don't think it's worth the effort.

Thanks for letting me know. I haven't been regular recently either. I do think it was a great thing but I understand that it's not worth it. And didn't realize all the work involved
I'll just keep checking in and see what's going on. Thank you very much.
