Insomnia persists

Hello everyone,
My insomnia is hard to heal.
I have tried everything :
cognitive and behavior therapy for insomnia, somatic experiencing,
anti anxiety pills, sleeping pills, growth hormone, meditation, breathing, yoga, sleep hygiene, acupuncture, hypnosis, chiropractor, being active during the day ....
I know it's coming from my head, it's conditioning, anxiety ...
I am working on it but the insomnia persists.
When things really don't go well, I start to think that maybe it's because of heavy metals or my intestines, or my liver ...
In short, a little help please;)

Hi Romain,

I know dealing with insomnia is very challenging. I wrote a Success Story about my journey with it that may have something helpful in it for you.

What I have found is that the key is practicing outcome independence. It's very hard to do and I still struggle with it from time to time. But it is impossible to try to make yourself sleep. The trying and the pressure associated with it will keep you awake.

Thank you Ellen, I realize that this notion of outcome independence comes back for all types of healing.
I recently listened to therapist Jim Prusac say that the best form of healing is not to seek to heal ...
I think he was talking about outcome independence ....
Thanks Ellen!

This is for Ellen. I read your success story and felt very inspired. My insomnia is from tapering off Klonipin(benzo) and I wondered if that was one of the types of meds you were on? Even though I am on a very slow taper monitored by my psychiatrist, the daily misery is hard to manage. I know there is an end in sight, but I want to try to make this time more tolerable. Any hints?
