Oh wow that is great to hear. Here's a story for you from last night for my "fake injury" that shows how TMSy I can get with those but more evidence I am ok and it is TMS.

Yesterday coming down the stairs, I hear a crack/pop/whatever which sends me spinning. I did not even FEEL the crack/pop/whatever in my body, but assumed it was in my right big toe because that was what I had been stepping on at the time when I was coming down the stairs. Half of me like, oh *&%$ I hurt myself, and the other half was like, oh maybe it was just the wood on the stairs under the carpet that made that noise. I sat in front of my computer for the next hour having pain in that toe which came on full force. After, I went for a barefoot walk for half a mile on the concrete sidewalk (this is a thing I have been doing for the past 2 months to prove to myself that my feet are strong and also decrease their over-sensitization) and I was totally fine. So clearly if anything was wrong I wouldn't have been able to do that. But the pain came on and came on immediately when I heard that noise. Yet it was just the stairs cracking. So my fear/expectation/worry completely created that experience.

So fascinating to observe these things, right? One of the symptoms I had been experiencing for so long was digestive issues, I would hear stomach noises and/or the gurgling when swallowing when I woke up, and immediately connect it and off my mind would go = symptoms. BUTTTT, then I started sleeping with a fan on which apparently means I couldn't hear the noises even if they were present and yup, you guessed it - the digestive issues diminished. So much connected to our perceptions and the predictions our brains make about those perceptions that create the actual sensation!

Oh wow! Thank you for sharing that., Just like the joint sounds I hear. I think when I don't hear them I don't have the focus on that joint and I don't escalate so quickly.
