Beloved Grand Eagle
I always stop and look up words I do not understand, particularly if I am reading something important.
IATROGENIC "relating to illness caused by medical examination or treatment."
I would submit that many of our symptoms and conditioning is the result of Iatrogenic origin.
I have a bit of a quandary whenever I have an 'issue' that I don't recognize. Over 25 years+ I have gone from being a bit of a Hypochondriac who rushed to the Doctor, to absolutely terrified to see a Doctor because I am sensitive to IATROGENIC symptoms.
A few times I have rejected being X-rayed or tested. When it has been mandatory for insurance reasons, I have reluctantly agreed, but always with the Caveat "Fine... do NOT tell me what you 'discover'"
The word IATROGENIC is on Pg. 59 of "Unlearn your pain" by Schubiner
So far, this book has been super engrossing. It is like Reading the Psychological portions of Sarno, but on steroids.
I forget when I am journaling or writing about anger. I have selectively deleted most of the most painful memories and conditioning from my life. Slowly reading this text has shaken a bunch loose.
Just like with "Healing Back Pain" and "Mindbody Prescription" I am turning the statements into Questions. I had to finally set down the Hi-liter pen because the majority of the text feels like he followed me around for 60 years. There is always comfort in finding out you are 'average'. and....IATROGENICALLY sensitive.
