I sent a message; there was no response

I try to catch up with people sometimes because i want them to know im still there. There is an actual person behind this misery. I want them to know that om still alive and in relatively good spirit.

Some people dont respond. This would leave me devastated just one or two years ago; it doesnt now. I said what i wanted to say, being authentic and kind. I have done my part, however the other party responds is outside of my control.

I have really grown. Obviously i would like them to respond, but its no biggie. Just less people to worry about. My dad been buying my stocks lately. Hes telling me he feels like im getting the hang of this shit. I dont know how long its gonna take but i have improved significantly in real life matters.

Well, this is a very superficial era in terms of communication. Internet and social media are making people less empathetic and more individualistic. Also we live in a an anxious driven society, not by accident.

I think TMS is very rooted in rejection, which is problematic since we need valuable socialization in a world that offers it less and less. Debilitating symptoms then give another layer of unnecessary difficult to this issue.

To be honest I don't have a good answer for this situation, at least none that doesn't come up too obvious like "try to find groups with same interests and blah blah blah...". But I'm certain there will be great replies down below.

Love it! :) I took this more as a reflection of your progress than needing an answer, so well done :)

I know you’re not looking for answers. But this is a great opportunity for an Unsent Letter.
Yes, even when you might feel you've got things pretty much sorted in your head about this kind of stuff, an unsent letter can still be so therapeutic and serve to 'close the pages of the book', so to speak. I'm really glad that you reminded us/me of this! Someone ghosted me a little while back which I had mixed feelings about at the time and I believe that writing an unsent letter will serve to make sure that I've thoroughly 'dusted out all the nooks and crannies and corners of my mind' regarding it.

This signals very profound growth in my opinion. It shows the development of boundaries, which most of us TMSers need to work on. Great work, @Mani!
