First off I'll post a quick summary of what happened in regards to my pain. I hope this post isn't too taboo, I'm just posting something with genuinely worked for me, and it would be amazing if it could help other people.
I had terrible leg, hip and buttock pain (together with neck, wrist and shoulder pain) for years. It didn't make any sense, it was on and off and followed no discernible pattern. The following didn't help at all:
- Doctors
- Physiotherapists
- Acupuncture
- Painkillers
- Massage (slightly helped)
I was at my wits end. I was searching online for anything that helped. I stumbled across John Sarno's book, The Mindbody Prescription. I read it, and it temporarily helped my pain for a few days. I couldn't quite accept the book though, and in the end dismissed it, and my pain came back.
I searched online again for something which could help. I came across a post online about someone who gave up watching porn, and their chronic pain got better. I thought I don't have anything to lose, and I'd give it a go
I went to bed that day in pain determined that I wouldn't watch any porn the next day. I woke up pain free! I hadn't woke up pain free in literally two years, it was literally a miracle! I thought maybe it's just a coincidence or a fluke, but no my chronic pain I had for 2 years literally disappeared overnight and never reappeared.
I think what had been happening before was that I had chronic pain from probably all the repressed shame from watching porn on a daily basis. Maybe even repressed anger from wasting my time watching it, and it causing other problems in my life. Plus I'd use porn as an escape mechanism for my problems, and it would help me repress all my problems. I didn't know this at the time, and I mistakenly thought the porn would help me take my mind off my pain, and make it better temporarily, when in fact it was perpetuating the TMS pain cycle i.e. doing something which caused TMS pain, and mistakenly thinking it was helping and doing it again.
I'm 100% convinced of TMS pain now. As soon as I made the conscious decision to not watch porn it was like a switch in my head which turned off the chronic pain. All that was needed was a shift in my thinking.
I should have posted this a while ago, I've just been a bit too embarrassed and was worried about this post getting deleted (classic people pleasing I don't want to upset or offend anyone). If anyone objects to this post, let me know and I can edit it. I just desperately want to share my amazing secret to getting rid of my chronic pain. Maybe it can help someone?
