    Hi, I am a little confused on how this site/ forums operate so if there is a problem (or someone can explain things comprehensively) please let me know:)

    Few months ago I experienced really scary post-orgasmic symptoms, which have since changed a lot. Overall, I can say I am much better but the pain/symptoms still havent subsided.

    I am stil unsure to what extend (or even whether) I have Mind-Body Syndrome, because I am sure something set this off and I feel like that something would be a structural problem? But I also know that I have been going through such a difficult time full of stress and anxiety both then and even more now that there is no doubt my nervous system is dysregulated. I can confidently say that if nothing else, my anxiety makes me feel 1000x worse

    I would really want to chat with someone that is willing to hear my whole story and offer insight or even find someone with similar (success) story so please advise on what to do next:)

    Hi welcomea
    @alil

    We are all volunteers here. Just people who have or have had TMS. We aren’t necessarily experts. We can only offer advice based on our own experiences, which are unique to each of us. We definitely aren’t counselors or medical professionals. It sounds like you might need both of those.

    How things work here is people post thoughts or questions and other people answer with their thoughts. That’s it, really. There’s a free course on this forum that many people take; it has 42 days’ worth of lessons. It gives a broad overview of most of the current knowledge about TMS. It’s a great place to start. It’s called the Structured Educational Program. You might like to try it.

    TMS is challenging for most people to get rid of. Every once in a while someone has a book cure by reading a book written by Dr. John Sarno. But the rest of us really have to work hard and apply all sorts of things. It’s a long journey, but it’s the only journey to get better. I wish you the best of luck on that journey and we will be here for you if you would like to join us.

    Welcome! You want to make sure that you have been told by a doctor that nothing is wrong. Or that medical tests came back normal. You need to rule out if anything is medically wrong. I didn't get the sense from your message if you had done that yet so if you hadn't that would be your first step.

    Like Diana said we aren't medical professionals. If you are looking for a TMS professional you can go to this site: https://www.symptomatic.me/ and look up people near you. A lot of people do it virtually now. But I will say this-even if you try to find a TMS professional that deals with Mind Body Work, they cannot heal you. You will be the one to heal you. And most of these do not take insurance so it's expensive. This work is simple (like the SEP) but it is hard. You have to stay consistent and do it. But it's free and a good starting place once you have ruled out there is nothing medically wrong with you.

    Thank you all! I am still running some tests but so far everything came back clean. My neurologist suggested even though there might be something compressed I definitely seem very anxious and she suggested part of what Im experiencing sounds more down the psychosomatic route. I myself have noticed that when Im distracted the symptoms are not there, similarly when I got yelled at for being dramatic they stopped the other day. So I decided while I wait there is no harm in managing my anxiety:)

    Yes! Absolutely! There’s a great book for that called Hope and Help for Your Nerves, by Claire Weekes.

    That a HUGE sign it's TMS...It never hurts to start working on this at all while you are waiting some results!

    Since you’ve been checked out by a doctor and there’s nothing concerning going on, safe to say it’s TMS!

    It doesn’t matter what symptom it is (and it can get creative from person to person!) The work is the same.

    That being said, when I discovered TMS, I had full blown symptoms including what little you’ve mentioned of yours (which was scary for me) I healed from them.

    Dig in. This work can be challenging but it is worth it.
