my name is Julian, I am 34 years old and I live in Colombia (sorry for my bad english), I never heard about TMS until yesterday and i was AMAZED and shocked, many cases of many people similar to my problem, read this people it was like reading myself.
short story: Upper back pain from january 2018, between shoulder blades most of time, but last months has been changed, left, right, shoulders, trapezius, neck, etc. I have visited 9 specialist, chiropractic, PT, physiatrist you name it, also tried natural remedies, plants, herbs, chairs. etc, I tried everything as illogical or comic appears, but I prefer scientific methods 99% of the time, so I amazed with TMS because has a lot of sense to me in the scientific and psycological side. I work on my home at chair on my desk, somedays 8 or 10 hour per day, sometimes 1 or 2 hours, can be vary a lot and I started to workout at gym since january on 2016, I lost around 35 lbs and I got a good physical condition, but the life knocked out me... Before I was too much sedentary and I just go out to parties, drink, smoke, etc.. So, when I was in that kind of life, I had no pain, but when I decided to have a healthy lifestyle I got in chronic pain, it seems dark humor hehehe.
So... It is really difficult to get the Dr Sarno book here in my country, so I bought on amazon today but I will receive it in 2 or 3 weeks, and although I can understand the english language on many things... read a book in a language different to your native language, is very difficult, I got the pdf (english version) yesterday but I did not understand it deeply, I was on egoscue method therapy (exercises of stretching everyday) for 2 weeks and I saw my pain was reduced, but reading about TMS, I felt fully identified with many cases and I think my problem has to be psycological.

My question is... I don't want to wait these 2 or 3 weeks doing nothing, I want to start the process RIGHT NOW, so I will really appreciate it any advice to a newbie, I am very open minded, I've liked to read and talk about psycology for many years, and the complexity of our braind and our minds, so if you have and advice or just a "hello" to me, I say you THANKS!

Hi drlecter. I am from England and have suffered exactly the same symptoms as you for about one year. I have a fairly constant ache mostly right side shoulder blade. At its worse it feels like a burning sensation. I get respite when I sleep and it is less when I am active or distracted. I have been using TMS methods and it did go away for three weeks but has now returned. So it can go! There are a lot of free videos worth checking out on this site that can provide much information and encouragement.
Keep in touch, as we do seem to have the same issues. Good wishes. Fred.

    Hey Julian!
Don't feel to bad... I am from Buenos Aires and my Spanish sucks!

You talk about how the pain came and got worse when you started being healthy?...that is very common with us. Most of us get TMS right around the time we start acting 'adult'. For me that was 32... Before that I was always doing whatever I wanted, partying, getting in trouble and I had NO pain. That is a very important concept for your recovery. It reinforces Sarno's assertion about it being a conflict between goodism and narcissism in our unconscious.

Read a little every day. Whenever you identify with a concept , write down your own experience with it... go back to doing what you like doing and you'll be well in weeks. It's a shoe-in
