Havana syndrome TMS?

Havana syndrome has been affecting us diplomats and spies in foreign countries. Symptoms begin with a "metallic whirring which is soon followed by an array of strange symptoms: dizziness, nausea and memory loss are most common.

For some, the symptoms are so debilitating and so protracted they are no longer able to work.

Hundreds of cases have been reported across the world, and almost all the patients have something in common.

They are diplomats, spies and military personnel working in US embassies in foreign countries.

The US is racing to find out what, and potentially who, could be causing Havana syndrome.

But some experts believe that while sufferers are experiencing real symptoms, the cause lies within their own minds."

We need to be clear on definitions here.

TMS is a condition that is generated by the brain in response to an emotional/psychological trauma. Havana syndrome is caused by the external source, possibly magnetic or sonic waves - nobody knows for sure (except for possibly Russia that is a suspect behind the attacks). Same may be true in the case of neurological damage by long covid.

With all that said, methods to heal the conditions may end up being very similar, and they are based on neuroplasticity, or re-wiring the brain. Much like stroke victims use neuroplasticity to unlearn the damage, the victims of Havana syndrome may be able to heal by similar methods.

Sounds a lot like TMS.

That 'sound' was attributed to a certain cricket they had in Cuba and the rest is Hysterical Over reaction and fear based hypochondria. .....

We have very similar constant cicada sounds here in the South on 13 year and 17 year rotating cycles. If you are here for one of the 'years' it is Much like that 'recording' but waaay louder and pulsating. I actually like it. It reminds be of being on Psilocybin
No one gets sick from it, because no one thinks it is a malignant evil plot...

So YES, this is sort of mass panic. a Shrink Friend I had once explained well documented cases of it in communities. ....a specialist in some obscure, low probability illness moves into a small community and Bam, they have an outbreak of it. These stressed out , overworked suits and spooks get told they are under attack and Bam, they start having all of these symptoms.

I think we have seen how susceptible we are to lots of Mindbody stuff in the last few years as this 'pandemic' (sic) has struck and people have lost their hair at each other.... more people are having stress reactions to their own beliefs and frustrations than the disease they argue about. Only have a couple friends who got corona (1 badly) but I got like 20 friends losing their freaking minds....

Well put Baseball. I believe they found the reason was the irritating cricket, and Wow, what our minds will do to things when we think they are dangerous!!!! I grew up in cicada country, and yes, it is mind-melting if you let it become so.
