Has anyone been seen for TMS by Dr. Andrea Leonard-Segal, M.D.

Hello all, I'm thinking of making an appointment with Dr. Leonard-Segal from the George Washington University Medical School. She also is one of the contributing authors of the book The Divided Mind, by Dr. Sarno and other M.D.'S that support and treat mind body disorders.

Has anyone been seen by her? She does not take my insurance and the appointment fee is costly, but I would be willing to invest if I thought her assessment and treatment plan would be sound.

Please comment if you have had direct or indirect experience with her or know someone who has. Just looking for feedback before I make the appointment.

She's located in Washington DC. I'm only 50 minutes from her office so I thought it would be a great opportunity to get evaluated by one of the specialist who have studied under Sarno and has a treatment plan for those with TMS.

I know this is an old post, but I was wondering if you ever went to see her? I'm considering going to her as well and would love any info you could provide!

Thanks
Emily

You may want to PM her as she hasn't posted here for a long time and is not likely to see your post. Perhaps that's a positive sign that she hasn't been back here. Personally, it's a no brainer, if you're fortunate enough to be able to see a well recognized TMS practitioner, I would be doing that with no hesitation about the cost, it's a pittance compared to what most have spent on things that don't work and the ongoing costs of future income and living life. It seems many are locked into their pain due to their insurance that doesn't cover TMS. I would rob a bank or take out a pay-day loan.
